Week 3: Nico's "Gnome Planet"

(( click on the image to enlarge ))

It seems there's a new trend going on lately, and it consists in not delivering the art pieces in time, which is fine with me, but I'm sure there are lots of art lovers out there waiting every week and looking forward to friday. Here are some of the excuses that we got from the painters:
- School took up too much time this week
- My new wireless mouse sucks and I can't really draw with it
- My turtle ate my pen drive
Hopefully, they'll start getting more creative with the excuses moving forward...
Going straight to this week's piece: it exposes a very general concept, which is the gnome in the whole world.
The 'space' in the background could have been a little more elaborated, all the stars look the same, it probably took 23 seconds to paint them all: just selecting the 'airspray' tool in paint and then clicking 23 times in different parts of the screen... c'mon, some shooting stars, satellites or UFOs would have been nice dude.
But the gnome looks good. And I think this picture of the gnome is probably from a long time ago, because he has his old nose in it... he must have gone through some kind of rhinoplasty I guess, to evolve into the gnome that we know today. He probably gets more girls now than he did back then.
We'll see what comes next.
See you next week!

  1. I really don't understand why the editor had the guts to say this piece of art was not delivered on time, when he spent that much time on writing 18 text lines (in word). Four and a half days.
The idea of not creating a very good looking space is to make focus on the gnome, the important stuff.

+1 Vote to change the editor.

  2. To the editor: Really? Nothing at all about the snorkell? I thought that was the easy critique...
